Mamma Mia! Brain Blast Duo
About Mamma Mia! Brain Blast Duo
Dude, I can't sleep. It's 11 PM and I'm still buzzing from Mamma Mia! Brain Blast Duo. Remember how Mark told us it was like, "the dynamite bomb is left in the space hangar, whoever has it when the time runs out wins because it explodes, so grab it and run"? Honestly, that explanation is so wrong it's like describing pizza as "bread with toppings." Technically true, but completely misses the point.
This game is not about *taking* a bomb from someone. It's about *not letting the bomb explode* by working together! You and your partner are two alien chefs, Zorp and Gleep, trying to bake the galaxy's biggest lasagna before the space rats eat all your ingredients. The "bomb" is actually this glowing, cosmic oven that's about to overheat and incinerate your whole kitchen if you don't get the lasagna finished.
The first time me and Sarah played, we were so confused. We kept trying to "grab" the Cosmic Oven Mitt from each other, thinking we had to be the one holding it when the timer ran out. But then the game was like, "No, you idiots! You need to *pass* the Cosmic Oven Mitt to Gleep so he can put the Gravy Goo into the Mega-Lasagna before the timer hits zero!" And that's when it clicked. It’s all about coordination.
It's really good. Like, really, really good. I'm not usually into co-op games that much, I like to win myself, but this was different. You actually *want* your partner to succeed because if they mess up, you both lose. I figured out that if Zorp preps the "Starfruit Slices" while Gleep stirs the "Nebula Noodle Mix," it saves like, 10 crucial seconds, and that changes everything. The sound of the space rats scurrying when the timer gets low is so stressful but also kinda funny. We played for hours, I looked up and it was like, 2 AM.
It’s like Overcooked, but instead of yelling at each other, you're like, "Okay, you got this, I'll do that!" You seriously gotta try it. I already told Mark he needs to get it so we can play a four-player game. Anyway, just wanted to tell you. Talk soon!
